Pediatric Home Service (PHS) technician earns BMET designation

(St. Paul, Minn.) —Mike Vogel, an Electronics Technician for Pediatric Home Service, is one of only 62 people in Minnesota, and 2,500 worldwide, to receive the title of Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) from The International Certification Commission and The United States Certification Commission for Clinical Engineering and Biomedical Technology.

The certification recognizes excellence in theoretical and practical knowledge of the principles of biomedical equipment technology, and demonstrates that the technician has the knowledge to ensure a safe, reliable healthcare environment. (http://www.aami.org/certification/about.html)

“Patient safety is a priority at PHS. Physicians, discharge planners, patients and families can feel comfortable knowing the equipment we provide is being properly maintained to the highest standards by qualified technicians and if they have a question or a problem with their equipment, our technicians are ready to help them.”
