PHS lends a hand to help special needs children

Sharing Care

Philanthropy has been part of the PHS culture since we opened our doors for business in 1990. In 2008, we created Sharing Care to expand our vision of taking care of the child to include those in our local community and elsewhere. The program is designed to:

  • Take our charitable giving one step further
  • Encourage generosity
  • Align our charitable giving with our mission to take care of the child
  • Provide PHS employees with the opportunity to donate time to programs and events in the community that are directly associated with serving medically-complex and underprivileged children and adolescents

Strong communities require strong support and leadership. Through financial contributions, in-kind donations, and volunteerism, Sharing Care supports a wide range of initiatives focused on enhancing the lives of special needs children and adolescents and expanding their opportunities.

You'll find our employees holding blood drives and volunteering time to other foundations and organizations that serve children – doing everything from teaching proper hand washing techniques to organizing supplies for families in need to being a team "buddy" for a miracle baseball league. They also raise money for a variety of causes. One example: PHS employees raised money to send several families to Faith's Lodge, a retreat for those with medically-fragile children or families who have lost a child.
