Learn the anatomy of an infusion port and the proper techniques needed to access, de-access and troubleshoot an implanted infusion port. Hands on learning and practice time are included.

Objectives; Following the presentation, the participant will be able to;

1. Identify the anatomy of an implanted infusion port.

2. Demonstrate proper techniques in accessing and de-accessing the implanted infusion port.

3. Discuss patient/caregiver education necessary for maintaining an implanted port in the home setting.

4. Identify methods for troubleshooting an implanted infusion port.

5. Identify complications of an implanted infusion port.
