Learn how to safely and comfortably use infection control practices while caring for your patients. The most current recommendations and standards will be used from; the CDC, the Association for Professionals in Infection Prevention and Epidemiology, and the Infusion Nurses Society.

Class is available upon request with a minimum of 4 nurses registered to attend. Contact PHS today to discuss available class dates and times.
Objectives: Following the presentation, the participant will be able to;
1. Verbalize understanding of Standard Precausions and how to apply them appropriately in teh home setting.
2. Verbalize understanding of Transmission Precautions and the circumstances in which they must be implemented.
3. Discuss the infection control measures needed to prevent Central Line Associated Blood Stream Infections.
4. Identify the Joint Commission National Patient Safety Goals.
5. Discuss strategies for preventing errors in medication administration.
