Starting a Peripheral IV
Learn how to start a peripheral IV, how to identify and find a vein, and how to select a proper access device. You’ll also examine the topics of venous system anatomy and venipuncture techniques.
Drawing Blood
Learn about the anatomy of the venous system, as well as the equipment and safety/infection control practices used in Phlebotomy. Class time will include demonstrations on drawing blood from a peripheral vein, central venous access devices and capillary systems (finger/heel stick). Procedure complications/resolutions will also be discussed.
