Bruce Estrem, RRT-NPS, LRT, is responsible for the extensive PHS training programs utilized by in-home nursing staff, families and other allied health professionals caring for children with medical complexities in the home environment.
Bruce was one of six original PHS employees who started in January 1990. He called on his previous experience as a home care therapist for Glassrock and Baxter/Travenol, as well as his hospital experience with Waconia, United and Bethesda hospitals to develop a deep understanding of the clinical and educational needs for the home staff.
In more recent years, Bruce has focused on providing a variety of classroom training programs. The programs are designed to ensure everyone working with patients who have medical complexities has a thorough understanding of the function and application of the multiple pieces of medical equipment and procedures used in the home environment.
Bruce has a B.A. in personal communication from Concordia College, St. Paul, Minn. He was awarded his respiratory therapy credentials in 1984 from St. Paul Technical College, St. Paul, Minn., and is licensed in both Minnesota and Wisconsin. He also presents at local, national, and international conferences on topics related to pediatric home care.
