Josh Larson, MJ, CHC, RHIA, RRT-NPS, joined PHS in 1995 as a respiratory therapist. He left in 1999 and spent five years working as an independent, contracted respiratory therapist with home health agencies such as Beckland Home Health. Soon after returning to PHS, he made the transition to PHS’s accreditation coordinator, ensuring business procedures and policies are aligned with regulations from accrediting agencies. He later become health information manager, assuming responsibilities such as patient records, document control, coding, billing compliance, and health information systems.
In his current role, Josh oversees the implementation and monitoring of the compliance program and the development, management, and facilitation of the PHS Quality Initiative Program. Additionally, he manages both the operational and clinical quality improvement initiatives and teams.
Josh recently completed a Master of Jurisprudence (MJ) in Health law for Loyola University Chicago. He also holds a Master’s of Science (MS) in health informatics and information management from the College of St. Scholastica in Duluth. He also received an undergraduate degree from Metropolitan State University in health care administration and a respiratory therapy degree from Northern Virginia Community College.
Josh is a member of multiple professional associations including; Health Care Compliance Association (HCCA), American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA), and American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC).
