We’re hiring nurse for full time, part time, and Baylor shift opportunities – if you or someone you know is interested in applying, visit our careers page to learn more.

Today in Know the Nurses, we’re introducing you to one of our home care nurses, Heather Stahl, RN, who has been with PHS as a nurse in Rochester since September 2013. We already know these nurses provide comprehensive, round-the-clock care for patients in their homes every day, but here are a few fun facts about Heather you might not know.

  • IMG952014042095120505950I have been married for 10 years to Tim and we have three beautiful children. Laura is 11, Shawn will be 8 in August, and Chloe is 5.
  • I started with PHS in September of 2013 and kind of thought I might be a little crazy for having to drive 3-3.5 hours through construction traffic and downtown Minneapolis to get to the PHS office. I now work in Rochester homes and still drive about 1 hour to work every day. But I love my job!!!
  •  I have been bitten by an iguana when working as a student worker in the biology department at MSU, Mankato.
  • IMG95201408029514590374795HDR I have a bachelor’s degree in life science education from MSU, Mankato. I went to nursing school after that at Riverland Community College in Austin, MN where I graduated in May 2013.
  •  I cried the day one of my PHS kiddos took his first steps at age 2 1/2.
  •  I have been to 31/50 states.
  •  I love to drive my mud truck in mud bogs when I have the time.
  •  I have worked in long term care for 1.5 years before coming to PHS after getting my RN license.
  •  IMG952014080295174833271I currently work with two PHS kiddos. They are both so very different but it is awesome to watch them thrive at home!!!
  •  Sleeping is my favorite hobby.
  •  I love to read. I have frequently stayed up way past my bedtime with a good book in hand and finally might decide it is time to sleep when it is 3 am and I have to be up at 7 am. Therefore I don’t allow myself to read before days I have to work 🙂
  •  Spending time outdoors is very relaxing for me. I love to camp, walk, and play in the mud.
  • IMG_20140621_202243603_HDRI hope to continue my nursing education within the next year or two to get my BSN and eventually work towards becoming a nurse practitioner.
  • I hate doing housework. But I do it anyway.
  • I just moved to a new house and hope that it will be my forever home. It is just what I have always wanted. Way out in the country and 4 acres of land.
