Parents Helping Parents: Organizational Tips

As parents know, organization can be a great help in keeping your home together, children on track and sanity in tact. For the parent of a medically-complex child, this can be a bit more complicated. Keeping everything organized doesn’t end at putting blocks in a bin and  keeping a calendar for lessons – it can include dozens of appointments, storage for and tracking of equipment and supplies, a nursing schedule, and a variety of other day to day tasks involved in caring for a child with a medical condition.

You can find a number of Medical Supply Organization videos on the PHS website, including PHS families showing how they keep supplies in order in their homes – check out tips from the Johnson and Wall families.

Since parents of the kiddos we help care for have developed some of the greatest organizational skills, we once again turned to them for this month’s Parents Helping Parents to get some of their personal tips. How do you stay organized? Tell us in the comments!
