Backorder Notice: Philips Respironics InnoSpire Nebulizer Filter

On June 25, 2021, PHS was notified by Philips Respironics of an extended backorder on their InnoSpire Elegance Inlet Nebulizer filters – a product that is used by many of our patients. This backorder is expected to last until November 2021.

Clinical Recommendation for Patients

We are working closely with manufacturers and vendors to secure stock of these filters as soon as possible and stay up to date on all changes. Because there are no alternative filter options while this product is unavailable, our clinical team has advised that patients can safely use this device without a filter during this time.

Philips Respironics Product Availability

Philips Respironics has also recently announced a voluntary recall of their Continuous and Non-Continuous ventilators due to degradation and chemical concerns in foam materials used. While some of our patients may be impacted by both the ventilator recall and the nebulizer filter backorder, they are not related to one another. We want to assure you that our team continues to diligently monitor both recent announcements and will be sure to keep patients updated with the most current information we have available.

In the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact PHS directly at 800-225-7477 with any questions or concerns.

Thanks for the information. How do I get notification if I should continue usage of the nebulizer and for how long with out the filter?

      Hi Geneva,

Thanks for your question! The filter is backordered right now until mid November due to a supply chain issue at Philips Respironics, and there is not a substitute item to use in the meantime you can try to clean your existing filter if it is dirty by wiping it off without using water. Otherwise you can use the compressor without the filter until they become available again.

      Hi Ruth,

We do not know of a recall on Philips Respironics equipment at this time, only of the filter backorder addressed in the blog. However, we recommend working directly with your provider to ensure your equipment is up to date. Thanks!
