PHS Welcomes a Fellow From the United Arab Emirates
PHS (in conjunction with a local hospital) was selected as one of only 5 locations in the United States to have a fellow visit our offices and ride along with a PHS respiratory therapist, giving them an opportunity to see what homecare is like in the United States. Edita Almonte, RRT came to MN from Tawam Hospital in the United Arab Emirates where she is the Respiratory Director. Here, Edita talk about her experience at PHS.

Edita’s comparison of care between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia is very interesting. Crossing cultural differences to share knowledge, experience and understanding is this way benefits patients in both countries. She seemed to have had a very positive experience visiting MN’s and PHS’ health care systems.
It was a wonderful experience for PHS and we were lucky to have her. We definitely learned a lot from having her here. Hopefully this we can participate in more programs like this with John Hopkins Hospital in the future.
