Benefit Information

At Pediatric Home Service our top priority is to ensure the health and safety of our employees and their families. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are choosing to follow the developing guidance of local and federal health officials.

As you can imagine, the details of benefit programs are quite intricate and new information comes out almost daily. We will do our best to keep this information current, please reach out to HR with any specific questions.

If you are impacted by COVID-19 and unable to work, please speak with your manager or HR to trigger these benefits. Just like all things, this program is designed based on the information we have today. We will absolutely continue to consider the unique circumstances each of us are facing as we understand more about the long term impacts of coronavirus and the efforts to slow its spread.

What you need to know:

  • Members can now seek a COVID-19 related provider visit (office, urgent care, emergency department, telehealth) that results in an order for a COVID-19 test for no cost. This includes out-of-network provider visits.
  • Members now have no costs for care from in network providers through 12/31/20 for COVID-19 when treatment follows evidence-based COVID-19 treatment guidelines.
  • Anthem members have access to 98Point6 telemedicine and Anthem LiveHealth Telemedicine options. 98point6 is FREE when COVID-19 related and LiveHealth costs are waived through 9/30/20.
  • The virtual care text feature on the Sydney Care mobile app is free for the first two text sessions through 12/31/20. Additional text visits are $19 each.

What you need to know:

  • Members can now seek a COVID-19 related provider visit (office, urgent care, emergency department, telehealth) that results in an order for a COVID-19 test for no cost. This includes out-of-network provider visits.
  • Members now have no costs for treatment for COVID-19 when treatment follows evidence-based COVID-19 treatment guidelines. This benefit applies through national emergency period, and it does not include experimental pharmaceuticals and medical treatments.
  • United Health Care members have access to UHC Virtual Medicine and 98Point6 telemedicine options. 98point6 is FREE when COVID-19 related.

What you need to know:

  • Members can now seek a COVID-19 related provider visit (office, urgent care, emergency department, telehealth) that results in an order for a COVID-19 test for no cost. This includes out-of-network provider visits.
  • Members now have no costs for a COVID-19 related provider visit (office, urgent care, emergency department, telehealth) where a test is not available, and the provider submits a confirmed COVID-19 diagnosis code pursuant to the CDC guidelines.
  • Members now have no costs for inpatient and outpatient treatment for COVID-19 when treatment follows evidence-based COVID-19 treatment guidelines. This benefit applies through 12/31/2020, and it does not include experimental pharmaceuticals and medical treatments.
  • BCBS Members have access to Doctor on Demand and 98Point6 telemedicine options. Free when COVID-19 related.

Applicable to staff at all PHS locations, the pandemic pay policy (see page 33) aims to support our employees and was designed in response to the broad reach of COVID-19. The pandemic pay policy provides up to 120 hours of pay when the employee is unable to work:

  • In the office or remotely,
  • During normal business hours or at any other time,
  • With or without accommodation,
  • With or without children at home,
  • Alternative work assigned by your supervisor,

and the employee is impacted by COVID-19 due to any of the following circumstances:

  • Confirmed diagnosis (self or caring for an immediate family member),
  • Under quarantine (self or caring for an immediate family member),
  • Providing care to own child due to school or child care closure.
