Pediatric Home Service (PHS) recognized by the Society of Technical Communication

St. Paul, Minn.Pediatric Home Service (PHS) has received three awards in the 2007 communications competition sponsored by the Twin Cities Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication (STC). Winners will be honored at the group’s annual awards banquet Tuesday, May 13, 2008.

PHS was recognized in three categories, earning: a Distinguished Award in Community Technical Publications for a DVD entitled “Home Oxygen Use,” an Excellence Award in Technical Art for “Asthma and You – Tip Cards,” and a Merit Award in Online Communications for “1-2-3 Infection Free.”

As a Distinguished Award winner, the “Home Oxygen Use” entry was forwarded to the STC International competition where it received a Distinguished Award, at this level. Judges had this to say about the DVD training video: “Excellent choice of format; outstanding production quality communicates safety-critical technical information; stage set gives a homey appearance without clutter or distraction; well-lit, well-composed frames, always clear close-up focus; great voice-over; calm, clear narration makes it accessible and reassuring to families.”
