As a Pediatric Center of Excellence, we take seriously the responsibility of advancing the home healthcare community through research studies and publications. There is a paucity of research focused on the medically complex pediatric population and we aim to change that through research led by PHS employees.

Our most recent study highlights patients living with central lines that are accessed in the home. This study aimed to uncover differences in outcomes for patients whose lines were accessed by parent caregivers versus those who had line access by nursing professionals.

Through the study, we were proud to see no noticeable difference in the outcomes of patients in either group. PHS places a large emphasis on the need to equip and enable not only our skilled clinical professionals but also the patient family caregivers. That focus on high-quality education for caregivers at all levels, delivers positive outcomes for our patients with central lines.
