Following a retrospective review of patients over an 11-year period, four Pediatric Home Service employees – along with a colleague from the University of Minnesota – recently published a manuscript of their findings in Hospital Pediatrics.

Chad Muesing, BA, RRT, Brianna Schimelpfenig, BS, RRT, Derek Hustvet, BS, RRT, and Roy Maynard, MD, all of PHS, identified the annual prevalence of tracheostomized children in Minnesota. Secondary objectives included decannulation and mortality rates.
