Pediatric Home Service Medical Director Appointed to AAP Executive Committee

Will contribute to the improvement of pediatric home care nationwide

St. Paul, Minn. – Pediatric Home Service (PHS) is excited to announce that Roy Maynard, M.D, has been appointed to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) Executive Committee of the Sub-Section on Homecare.

This section was formed in 1994 after the founding AAP members recognized a need for general pediatricians and subspecialists to be educated on topics related to the homecare of pediatric patients.

The Executive Committee of the Sub-Section on Homecare exists to:

  1. Serve as a national resource in patient and family-centered pediatric home health care for pediatricians, other health care professionals, and families.
  2. Disseminate knowledge and share expertise in pediatric home health care.
  3. Advocate for high-quality, cost-effective home health care for children and for the policies and resources necessary to provide those services.

Maynard, the Medical Director at PHS, joined seven current members on the committee in November 2013. In this role, Maynard will be able to provide valuable insights based on his vast knowledge of the pediatric homecare population – a contribution that will benefit the patients PHS cares for as well as homecare agencies and their patients nationwide.

“I look forward to sharing my knowledge and insights with other healthcare professionals to improve pediatric homecare and to grow awareness of the benefits homecare provides,” says Maynard. “I know it will also benefit the patients we serve as we continue leading the way in providing high-quality pediatric home care.”
