Pediatric Home Service receives accreditation from The Joint Commission

Award marks 16 consecutive years of accreditation

St. Paul, Minn.Pediatric Home Service (PHS) has earned its sixth consecutive accreditation and Gold Seal of Approval™ from The Joint Commission, a national leader in setting the highest standards for health care quality and safety.

A pediatric homecare company providing specialized health care to technology-supported children in their homes, PHS was first accredited in 1994 and is now in its 16th year of demonstrating compliance with JC national standards for homecare organizations. To earn and maintain the commission’s Gold Seal of Approval, PHS undergoes an unannounced on-site survey by a team from The Joint Commission every three years.

“This is a comprehensive process that evaluates our organization against a set of stringent national standards,” says PHS CEO Susan Wingert. “Continually achieving this distinction is the result of an ongoing commitment from all our people throughout the organization to provide quality services on a day-to-day basis. Everyone here plays a valuable role in meeting these standards. They take pride in their work and in PHS. And they appreciate the educational aspect of the survey, which helps them to do what they already do well—provide pediatric homecare services—even better.”

The Joint Commission is an independent, not-for profit organization and its accreditation is recognized worldwide as a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to meeting performance standards.
