Celebrating Our Certified Nurses

On March 19th, we recognized our five specialty infusion nurses for Certified Nurse Day. This national day, which was proposed by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, is meant to honor the amazing achievement of obtaining nursing specialty certification. Check out the video they created to say thanks to all certified nurses.

PHS encourages its staff to receive continued education and additional credentials or certification as part of their professional development by providing a reimbursement program. Our infusion nurses complete additional education, which is conducted independently in their spare time, and a difficult exam to receive either an infusion or pediatric specialty, which requires renewal every two years by getting specialization-specific CEUs(continuing education units).

By achieving this specialization, our nurses provide a more in-depth skill set, ensuring we provide the highest level of care to each of our infusion patients. With two more of our nurses currently preparing to take the exam, the infusion department maintains a dedication to excellence and continued education – a benefit that everyone from families to providers will see.

Our nurses bring the most comprehensive care to patients every day, and going through this process is just another step of every clinician’s mission to continue taking care of the child. Thank you, certified nurses!
